Hi all, this is a little painting I did yesterday…..while sitting at doctors for 5 hours waiting to get in. You don’t know how happy I was to have my iPad! It was really just to pass time, however I like the way it was developing & the lighting gave me a good opportunity to do a tutorial. I decided on some backlighting was a great compliment, so added some rim light & subsurface scattering through her hair….one person mentioned it looks like she’s glowing…..which she pretty much is! I touch on this in the tutorial, hope you enjoy viewing & don’t forget to subscribe.
Finally got time to create a new signature logo….this will go onto all my artwork & is my new brand. What do you all think?
The craze for artists all over social media atm is #artvartist pic of artist surrounded by their art. I decided to just stick with some of my portraits….These are what I feel most proud of, as up until about a year & a half ago I would not paint people. I felt I couldn’t, & had a real mental block since leaving art school many years ago. I put a lot of effort into working on this, & now I truely love painting portraits…esp these fantasy type pieces from my imagination.
What subject scares you the most? What would you like to be able to draw, but feel your unable to? Im here to tell you, you can do it….It just takes time, practise, determination & studying. Give it a go!
Hi all, I’m exited to announce I’m now selling some of my art in my store with Zazzle! There’s a fantastic range of print options on canvas & wooden panels, cushions, phone/tablet cases, garments & other accessories…. You can choose a product already set up or you can apply my selected artwork to any product you like. I’ve chosen to do this, so my artwork will be available to more people…Not just those who can afford my limited editions & commision pieces. So go check it out….Link on ‘shop’ page, found in menu above, I’d love to hear what you think…..Good or bad! 😌😉 cheers -Lion
Hey my digital artist peeps, do you use an art glove when drawing? If so, is it a Dokiwear CG glove…if not why not?
I’ve used a glove since i began painting digitally, it helps your hand glide across the tablet, esp when its hot (i live in Aus- we get very hot summers) & your hands sweaty, plus on iPad’s etc helps with palm rejection. That was great & i used my trusty Wacom supplied glove, but then I came across a super product….The Doki wear CG Glove, that does all of the above, but is also a compression glove. What does that do? It helps relieve the RSI & arthritis i have from years as an artist. My hand aches like crazy at night, but since I began using the Dokiwear glove it has been so much better. I just wanted to share this with you guys, its not an expensive purchase, the customer service from these guys is amazing & I highly recommend it to any digital artist, even traditional artists to help with hand pain. Here’s the link go grab yours today!
I’ve just developed an easy technique for painting scars & skin blemishes in Corel Painter 2018!

Happy Painting – Lion Art
Arrows in her eyes, fear where her heart should be, war on her mind, shame as she cries….fire away!!!
A study I began for warm up, but feel the concept is good enough to warrant completion as a full artwork. I have decided the same for previous piece ‘Arrows’, both are inspired by the same song & I have more ideas that could make a nice series for an exhibition. I hope you guys feel the same, please comment or send me an email or message….your feedback means the world to me. Thanks – LionArt
